Findus Group expanded its operations into Belgium through the acquisition of the Lutosa branded retail business in February 2014. Lutosa provides potato wedges, croquettes and rösti as well as French fries.

Lutosa has been successfully involved in potato processing since 1978, during which time it has built an excellent reputation for product quality and outstanding service.

History

1981
The Van den Broeke brothers took over the potatoes processing factory in Leuze-en-Hainaut. The brand Lutosa ( Leuze in Latin ) was born.
2007
After a steady growth, the Van den Broeke family sells Lutosa to Hein Deprez. Lutosa is therefore directed by the Pinguin Group.
2013
McCain group buys Lutosa. To avoid a monopoly position on the market, European Commission forced McCain to sell the retail part of Lutosa activities in Europe.
2014
Findus group buys the retail part of Lutosa and is now in charge of the distribution of the Lutosa potatoes products included the famous French Fries N°1 selling SKU in Belgium.
